Configuration

The BreakTime Option screen allow you to configure the program's parameters. It is reached by right-clicking on the BreakTime tray icon, or right-clicking on the BreakTime display. When you bring up the options screen, it will look something like this:

The Option screen has a preview window, several tabs, and buttons. The buttons allow you to accept, cancel or apply the changes and to bring up these help screens.

There are four tabs on the options screen:

Background - Lets you configure the background.
Display - Set the message text, the position of the message, and the time display.
Misc. - Controls the timing parameters and sound settings.
About - Contains program information and internet links.

Background Tab
There are several options for BreakTime's background:

Colors
You can set a single color, or use gradiated colors:

Graphics
You can use a graphics file:

BreakTime can read a variety of graphics formats including (BMP, JPG and WMF). You can set the display style of the graphics. This is important if your graphic is smaller than your display. The options are:

  1. Center - Centers the image on the screen. The color options are used to fill in if the graphic is smaller than the display area
  2. Stretch - Enlarges or shrinks the image to fit the display area
  3. Tile - Tiles the images so it fills the display area

Contents
BreakTime has several internal messages. To use these don't change the contents of the Message edit box. If you have changed it and want to return it to the internal messages, leave the Message edit box blank.

The Set Font button allows you to set the font type, size, and color.

Position
You can change the height of the display (you may need to for large fonts), as well as control whether the BreakTime window displays on the top or the bottom of the screen.

Timing
Here is where you set up how often the BreakTime window is displayed, and for how long it stays.

Sound
You can configure a Windows WAV file to be played when the BreakTime window is displayed. You can also preview you sound here.

Run on Startup
BreakTime is normally configured to run when your computer starts up. If you ever need to change that, you may do so here.
